Rated 5 out of 5 by aheiss from Works Better than Expected! We purchased this air conditioner at the beginning of a very hot and humid Philadelphia summer. We are more than impressed with its ability to cool our >600sq.
This Haier ENERGY STAR 12000 BTU Window Air Conditioner with Remote is designed to cool a room up to 550 sq. Ft., making it ideal for bedrooms and dens. The digital controls give the unit a sleek and contemporary appearance. It has a built-in timer that allows you to set the unit on a cooling.
Foot downstairs of our row home quickly and efficiently. This is my first experience with a window unit and I can't believe how great it's going so far. Set up was relatively easy but I needed my fiancee to help lift it into place. It was too heavy for me myself. I definitely make this purchase again!
Rated 5 out of 5 by Danny179 from LW1216ER I noted the very high rating this window air conditioner got in Consumers Reports magazine. I bought it through J.C. I can't say much good for the shipping: the package was pretty well beat up and the plastic grill cracked, although just cosmetic. The unit cools very well with a high EER which saves money. When on energy saving it comes on every three minutes to check air temperature when compressor has shut off.
That seems excessive: other units I looked at come on every 10 minutes. But the unit overall is outstanding and I'd gladly buy it again. It makes me consider other LG products, something I hadn't thought of doing before. Rated 1 out of 5 by pdeg from CONSTANTLY TURNS OFF AND ON I bought this unit two months ago and when on ENERGY SAVER Mode it turns off and on constantly. I emailed the MFG and was told that is normal for the fan cycle to turn and on approx. Every three minutes to test the room air to determine if active cooling needs to be resumed. This unit turns off and on more often than every three minutes.
It turns on and off anywhere from thirty seconds to one minute or later (when it wants to) it will come back on then shuts off anywhere from ten seconds to thirty seconds afterwards, then starts up again and runs for approx. Thirty seconds than shuts down until it repeats this routine. This acts this way mostly in the evening hours when it's a bit cooler outdoors Yes there are times that it will stay on for longer periods of time. I have owned other brands and none of them have required them to start and shut off all the time to check room temperature, plus the air blow is not as good as the other brands are.
I will continue to use this item for the rest of the season simply because stores are now stocking up with winter items and air conditioners are not a winter item. But next year I will be replacing it with another brand. And it's for this reason that I do not recommend this item. Fantasy ebook torrent. The ENERGY STAR® LG 12000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW1216ER is a Winonditioner and as such, it requires a standard single-hung or double-hung window for proper installation. The outside of the cabinet must extend outward for at least 12' and there should be no obstacles, such as a fence or wall within 20' from the back of the cabinet because it will prevent heat radiation from the condenser. Restriction of outside air will greatly reduce the cooling efficiency of the air conditioner. Non-window installations, including using wall sleeves, holes in walls or other types of installation are not recommended.^IFV.
