The Ibanez Ergodyne is a very interesting and overlooked line of basses. Ergonomics is the name of the game with the Ergodyne. This bass has a super body making playing anywhere in any style very easy. There is a wide array of controls on the bass, giving you a massive tone range. Starting at the knob nearest to the neck you have a volume knob. The next knob is a blend knob.

Next are two stacked knobs. The base of the 3rd knob controls the bass eq and the top of the knob controls your high end. The last knob is a sweepable eq.

The fretboard is rosewood with 24 medium frets. This is a great example on how good a reasonably priced modern bass can be. So many bassists think you gotta pay thousands of dollars for a Warwick or some custom job to have a good bass. With this you can get a super modern feel with active electronics for a very reasonable price.Priced without case.

Overall Very Good++++condition. Product Specs Condition: Brand: Model: Finish: Year: Made In: Korea, Republic of.

Back in the day when electric instruments were first starting to come out, pickups were badly made. Their shielding in particular was god-awful, so in order to combat some of the signal interference instrument manufacturers started slapping these covers over the pickups. Eventually though, pickup manufacturing matured enough to put out a design that didn't need outside shielding anymore, and the pickup cover became nothing more than a bit of shiny decoration. I have them on all my workhorse basses, but honestly they don't serve any practical purpose (aside from maybe acting as a hand guide when I slap). I just like how they look. Wow, I had the same exact thing as my first bass. Beautiful copy of a Rick, but the telling differences were the single truss rod and the stereo jack was not labeled 'Rick-o-sound' or whatever it was on the originals.

Little story about that bass: I was about 20 y.o. And had the fake Ric for about four years. I had brought it to work to use some tools that we had in the shop (this was at a golf course groundskeeping barn). Disable driver signature enforcement windows 7. I worked overnights watering the course with its manual irrigation system. Someone had come into the shop while I was out on the course and stole it.

I always suspected who did it (dirtbag brother of another guy that worked there that had seen me there with it that day). Filed a police report and all that business and that was that. Forward about 4 more years. I am working at another job - a manufacturer where pretty much half of the people there were musicians in bands and whatnot. Shipping guy brings in his bass one day. It's a Ric in a case and I immediately recognize it. He had done some work on it and put a Rickenbacker nameplate on it (it never had any plate when I had it), but I was able to recognize it.

Years prior, I had been screwing around with a big pair of vise grips one day, and for some dumb reason, I clamped it down on the headstock leaving big chomped teeth marks in the wood. Also, just a 'stereo' label on the jack.
