Coolscan V Ed Drivers Windows 7
I use Nikon Scan 4.0.4 with a Coolscan V under Windows 7 x64. Since Nikon Scan 4.0.3 also supports the Coolscan IV the following should work. The problem is the drivers that come with Nikon Scan 4.0.3; the 'trick' is to use the VueScan drivers with Nikon Scan.

Looks like Windows XP is the last systen the V ED will work on. Can anybody confirm? I thank you very much for any info. There is a guy Named Ed Hamrick (I think thats how its spelled) who writes and sells a butt' kickin' scanner control software called 'View Scan'.

I would be VERY surprised if View Scan didn't support your scanner in Windows 7. -- Larry Lynch Mystic, Connecticut I figured out why I cant lose weight! Thanks to all on the PC Forum who responded.
I have asked about 3-4 questions on this Forum over the years and you guys solved all of them. Hard to beat 100%. I'll be back.you can bet on that! I think once you have the full version of 'Vue-Scan' up and running, you will be AMAZED at how much it can do. Back when I was scanning prints and film, I used VueScan on Epson, HP, Canon, Nikon and other brands, without problems.

Silverfast uses (well the older versions, not the latest one ) DigitalICE and on the Coolscan 9000 ICE works with Kodachrome (it doesn't work on the V or 5000 though).
Silverfast is pricey. Steephill wrote: I was pleasantly surprised that Vuescan's IR cleaning treatment works with Kodachrome. Digital ICE is a good technique but it isn't the only way to do it. Other scanner makers have also implemented their own effective solution using the IR channel so don't go thinking only Digital ICE will do.
