Hi all - help please. I have two issues and suspect they are connected.

First, I have a leak in the tailgate and it let in a lot of water. It got right into the structure of the tailgate and sloshed around. When I opened the boot it ran out where it could but as the tailgate went higher (powered) you could hear it running up the insides of the tailgate. I have today taken off all of the trim panels, dried it out best I can. I have re-seated the rear lights as a first point of attack (as I may have dislodged them when replacing trim panels before) and tomorrow plan to see if the tailgate is watertight by sitting inside and having the outside hosed on low pressure. Any ideas of where to look?

Second, my MMI is acting up after the water has been in the tailgate. I have a 2G MMI High system, DVD Sat nav in left side of boot together with the BOSE kit (It is dry where these units are, the insulation does not even feel damp). The symptoms are: The radio goes silent / cuts out every 10 seconds or so, when it does the radio station name disappears from the DIS. It looks to me like the MMI is restarting. The CD will load and change CD but not play. My phone will not connect.

The Nav system will show the map but I can not enter any data as it keeps jumping back to the top input line. I've seen somewhere on the forum that this could be down to the aerial amp, mine is in the left side of the tailgate, part number 4F9 035 225 H. It does not show any visible sign of damage ie corroded track (I'm an electronic engineer, or at least my degree almost 20 years ago said I was). Is there any way of checking this or any other component if these amps are the suspected culprits? I unplugged this unit (white plug) and the radio kept working?

5570

But when I unplugged the white plug on the 4F9 035 225 D, situated above the SatNav & Bose, it stopped working. I've borrowed a friends full VCDS so I can run that, but would need guidance of what to check. Nothing obvious came up when I ran an autoscan. I'm at a loss at what to do other than go to the main dealers, but I suspect there is more knowledge on this here forum. Any help will be very much welcomed!

Cheers, AndyB. Your symptoms are classic signs of a bombed bluetooth module. You also see the errors in the log (can't find telephone module). Audi can do a bypass of the optical bus to stop the faulty device from causing your radio/cd/mmi interrupts until they can replace the module (or you put up with no nav, cd, radio until they replace the bluetooth module).

Total cost to replace the bluetooth module should be around 400 pounds. In any case, I would take it to an Audi dealer. This was probably caused by water in your passenger-side footwell - check the carpet there to see how wet it is. A8 tech many thanks.

Sony ta-da9000es manual. Final request - are the units seen on eBay at the links below what I need to get. Or would you recommend only going to main dealer and getting a new one.

Cheers, AndyB BTW: I have a Polish friend who is an Audi nut too, so I can ask him to contact the Polish one if that looks good. This one looks good if you have a cradle base in the arm rest then its universal preparation (you can use bluetooth connection or fit a cradle for your phone type) if there is no cradle base then its sap bt ring your local parts dept and ask which type you have and the part number then compare it with ebay BLUETOOTH PR CODE 9ZF PART NUMBER 4E0 910 336 A PR CODE 9ZW MOBILE PHONE PREP 4F1 910 336 A PLEASE CHECK FIRST. Hi All, Just to close this one down.
